Kaw Lake Oct. 18th, 2008

Photos of the event are here

The Kaw lake tounament was the first annual catfish tournament held in conjunction with the Kaw lake Fall Festival. We had six teams enter this tournament on a most beautiful day. Unfortunatly, we had winds out of the east to begin the tournament and the fish developed a serious case of lock jaw. The teams really had to fish hard to get anything in the live-wells.

We started the weekend off with a fish fry on Friday evening at the Camp McFadden lodge. The board of directors from the Kaw lake Association joined us for this event and contributed some tasty side dishes and desserts for the meal. Teddy Armstrong and Quinton Miller were the chefs and did a great job cooking the fish, potatoes and hush puppies.

Results of the tournament are as follows:

First place went to the team of Aaron Harrell, Jelly Harrell and Earl Day. They had a total of 24.49 lbs and also had the big fish of the tournament which was 8.98 lbs. They took home all the money plus first place awards and hats from Oklahoma CATS.

Second place went to Teddy Armstrong and Edward Miller with a total weight of 8.98 lbs. They each received a new rod and Penn reel courtesy of the Williams Group, bait from Cj's Bait and hats from the club.

Third place went to RC Coleman and Dustin Sipes with a weight of 8.20 lbs. They received a cast net and fish basket from the Williams Group, bait from Cj's Bait and hats from the club.

Fourth went to Marvin and Carol Williams with a total weight of 2.17 lbs. They received Cj's Bait and club hats.

Fifth place went to Todd Armstrong and Quinton Miller. They received bait from Cj's Bait Company, club hats and the dreaded "cryin" towel.

Sixth place did not report for weigh-in.
